When they were kids they were heroes, and partners. Now they’re retired, living anonymous twenty-something suburban lives. But in a polarized, increasingly hostile world, how long can they stay out of the fight? Golden Age is a different kind of superhero story — a lo-fi drama about the push and pull between the urge to take action and the nagging feeling that doing what we can may not actually matter. Ultimately, however, the film carries a sense of optimism: things may be dark, but it’s within our power to make them brighter.
