Mary Jessup, a waitress in a Ozark diner is having a difficult night. Angry about the broken truck her boyfriend Warren sold her, she’s stuck for a ride home. Warren, a local exterminator hanging out with his buddies at a honky-tonk, refuses to answer her calls. Minutes before closing, a Stranger walks into the diner. Tall, lean, wearing a dark coat, he ignores her notice about the kitchen being closed. Other customers leave as he sits at the counter charming her for something to eat. There’s something oddly familiar about him, something dangerous that she can’t quite recall.
