Woodstock: Three Days of Peace and Music (1970, R)
August 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm CDT
Twenty-five years after Woodstock: Three Days of Peace and Music premiered, Entertainment Weekly called it “the benchmark of concert movies and one of the most entertaining documentaries ever made.” We are showing the full documentary, which is a little over 3 hours long, so the start time for this one will be 5:00 PM. Mark your calendar!
Central Cinema Nights is a movie screening in the Central Library’s Durwood Film Vault taking place Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we watch and discuss documentaries and feature films in a socially conscious setting, chosen to fit a monthly theme. This month’s theme: Woodstock Turns 50! In celebration of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary, we are traveling back to 1969 and showcasing three movies connected to the famous concert, followed by the 1970 documentary about the event itself.
Everyone is welcome! Movie screenings at the Central Library are always FREE and open to the public.
