Women Behind the Lens: An Education – Presented by KC Public Library, Plaza Branch

February 3 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm CST

Searching the Psyche Through Cinema

This annual screening-and-discussion series continues in February with more psychological studies of films helmed by female directors.

Director Lone Scherfig’s smart and critically acclaimed coming-of-age story follows a teenage girl (Carey Mulligan) in 1960s London and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age. Post-screening discussion is led by Lori Hoodenpyle, a family law attorney and psychoanalytic candidate, and film critic Beck Ireland.

Presented in partnership with the Greater Kansas City and Topeka Psychoanalytic Center.

Please RSVP to this event.  Reception to follow.

NOTE: to RSVP for more than eight attendees, please complete the form (https://www.kclibrary.org/node/25472/register) then contact 816.701.3407 for further assistance.
