Taking Woodstock (2009, R)

August 21, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm CDT

Based on the memoir Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a Concert, and a Life by Elliot Tiber and Tom Monte, this Ang Lee directed movie follows the true story on how Woodstock came to be.

Central Cinema Nights is a movie screening in the Central Library’s Durwood Film Vault taking place Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we watch and discuss documentaries and feature films in a socially conscious setting, chosen to fit a monthly theme. This month’s theme: Woodstock Turns 50! In celebration of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary, we are traveling back to 1969 and showcasing three movies connected to the famous concert, followed by the 1970 documentary about the event itself.

Everyone is welcome! Movie screenings at the Central Library are always FREE and open to the public.
