Half of a Yellow Sun (2014, R)
Sisters Olanna and Kainene return home to 1960s Nigeria, where they soon diverge on different paths. As civil war breaks out, political events loom larger than their differences as they join the fight to establish an independent republic.
Central Cinema Nights is a movie screening in the Central Library’s Durwood Film Vault taking place Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we watch and discuss documentaries and feature films in a socially conscious setting, chosen to fit a monthly theme. This month’s theme: Celebrating Black History Month with Kanopy.
Join us this Feburary as we showcase Black filmakers from our Kanopy collection. Come in from the cold and enjoy world-class, award wining cinema from some of the brightest stars in the buisiness. Don’t worry if you can’t make it; all these films can be streamed online with your library card.
Everyone is welcome! Movie screenings at the Central Library are always FREE and open to the public.
