A Walk on the Moon (1999, R)

August 7 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm CDT

Set at a time when everyone wanted to change the world, A Walk on the Moon takes a fresh and frank look at the way romance can change the lives around it. Featuring Diane Lane, Viggo Mortensen, Liev Schreiber, and Anna Paquin, follow a young housewife’s exploits in New York during the famous summer of 1969.

Central Cinema Nights is a movie screening in the Central Library’s Durwood Film Vault taking place Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we watch and discuss documentaries and feature films in a socially conscious setting, chosen to fit a monthly theme. This month’s theme: Woodstock Turns 50! In celebration of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary, we are traveling back to 1969 and showcasing three movies connected to the famous concert, followed by the 1970 documentary about the event itself.

Everyone is welcome! Movie screenings at the Central Library are always FREE and open to the public.
