2010

Kansas City FilmFest is both a juried and curated festival offering full‐length independent feature films, documentaries and shorts from more than 20 countries. Audiences will see Oscar® nominated, pre‐released, and Sundance® fan favorites as well as up‐and‐coming local talent. Kansas City FilmFest also offers the opportunity to meet filmmakers and attend seminar and question and answer sessions with noted writers, directors and actors including Kansas City’s own Jeff Goldsmith, noted director and Senior Editor of Creative Screenwriting Magazine and award winning director, Debra Granik. Kansas City FilmFest is presented by the Kansas City Filmmaker’s Jubilee and is proud to celebrate independent film while providing local talent a platform to showcase their work.

Tickets

Tickets for Jubilee Showcase presentations go on sale online beginning April 1. Festival passes and tickets to regular screenings go on sale April 8th.

Please note: Jubilee Showcase films are special features offered by Kansas City FilmFest. Cost for a Jubilee Showcase ticket is $20. Jubilee Showcase events are not included in festival passes (for filmmakers or others who purchase passes).

Venues

Most screenings will take place at the historic AMC Mainstreet at 1400 Main Street in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, in the new “Power & Light District.”

 

 

 

Parking

Surface lots:

The lot west of the AMC Theatre on the corner of Baltimore and 14th Street is $5.00 per day (and evening) during the week. On Friday and Saturday nights at 5pm it changes to $10.00.

The lot behind Fran’s diner on the corner of Main and Truman is $5.00 for three hours and under; over three hours it is $10.00.  After 5pm on Friday and Saturday it goes to a straight $10.00.

Garage Parking:

Main Street Garage (or Consentino’s Parking garage) on Main Street between 12th and 13th streets is free for 3 hours with an AMC validation. After 3 hours there will be a $1.00 charge for each additional 20 minutes.

Live Block Garage on 13th Street between Grand and Walnut is free for the first three hours during the day up to 5pm with validation from any Kansas City Power & Light venue.  Over three hours it is $1.00 for each additional 20 minute period.  After 5pm it is $2.00 with validation from any Kansas City Power & Light venue.

The most important aspect to garage parking is the patron needs to have the ticket validated to receive the discount.  Otherwise the patron could get charged up to $15.00 for parking.

Valet:

Valet is on 14th Street between Main and Walnut in front of Fran’s and Bristol.  The current price is $8.00.

The Holiday Inn Aladdin Kansas City will be providing our guest accommodations. You may either call them at (816) 421-8888 and mention the Kansas City FilmFest to get our group rate, or you may book online.
