Follows the lives of two art school graduates, John and Patrick, during a summer internship in Kansas City, Missouri, and two late-20’s urban professionals, Abbey (a frustrated writer studying to be an actuary) and her best friend, Margo.

Seeking a new style, Patrick brow-beats John into helping him create a new work, ‘Spontaneous Generation,’ which is shown during a gallery tour, purchased by a leading dealer, and immediately acclaimed by a major critic.

During the tour, Abbey is mesmerized by a landscape painting by John. Due to a mix-up, she does not realize the lanscape is his or that he was one of the creators of ‘Spontaneous Generation,’ when she meets him and criticizes the work. Trying to save the day, Patrick blows John’s cover.

Feeling badly, Patrick seeks the help a computer geek (Nathan) to find Abbey and get her together with John. In the process, Patrick discovers Abbey once kept an online journal and uses the entries to help John woo Abbey.
