It’s all in the Camera

Digital SLR cameras designed for still photography now have movie modes. They have been adopted by indie filmmakers in droves because their high resolution and large sensor size looks very close to 35mm film. A new Canon with this feature has just been released that costs $799. But these cameras aren’t perfect. So to make them work properly, you have to jump through hoops. This seminar would show you what the hoops are, and how best to jump through them.

Josh C: I'm wondering if recordings of any of the panels are available? I heard something about there being recorded podcasts for some of the discussions. I'm particularly interested in the final panel discussion regarding the future of film in KC.

Candy: I was wondering what the audience's opinion of "Winter's Bone" was after the premiere 04/14/10. The critics have loved it and to take TWO awards at Sundance 2010 and sice two at The Berlin Film Festival-I think npr is correct-it is a modern day "True Grit"-a modern classic.

Jo Johnson: Saw "Popppies" and thought it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Did it win any awards?

Brent Huff: On behalf of the cast and crew of HELPLESS I would like to thank the Kansas City Film Festival for including us.

Brian Rose: Thanks again for screening my film, "James Polk." Sorry to see it didn't win any awards, but then again, I wasn't surprised. There were a lot of films way better than it. It was a first effort, and so-so at that. But someday I'll do a film that'll REALLY raise some eyebrows.
